When you walk into a country music venue, it’s common to hear a Fender Telecaster wailing, maybe a steel guitar crying, or a fiddle taking a solo. But there is a new sound in country music rising from behind the pine curtain of a small Texas town, and the artist at the helm of this fresh new sound is Shayne Porter.

Shayne Porter, a 27-year-old rising star in Texas Country Music, is making waves with his unique sound, blending old school Motown, Memphis blues, and influences from legends like The Temptations and Gary Clark Jr. His latest duet, “You Made A Rock,” featuring Jordan Rainer, is climbing the Texas Country Music Charts, showcasing his deep-rooted musical influences and distinctive voice.

Shayne’s journey began at age 7, singing along to Rascal Flatts in the backseat of his mom’s car. Encouraged by his mother, he honed his skills by singing in local bars, often impersonating iconic artists like Elvis Presley and Conway Twitty. His passion for music led him to compete in various singing contests, culminating in a win at a prestigious competition held by the Nashville School of Music. This victory opened doors to recording opportunities in Nashville, a dream for a young artist inspired by Elvis.

Though initially a vocalist, Shayne’s mentors encouraged him to learn guitar, which he did with determination, gradually expanding his repertoire. As he explored more guitar-oriented and blues artists like John Mayer and B.B. King, his sound evolved, incorporating elements from Motown and soul legends like Otis Redding and Whitney Houston.

Shayne’s dedication to his craft led him to Nashville, where he collaborated with notable songwriters like Kevin Brandt and Bobby Terry. These experiences deepened his songwriting, resulting in authentic and emotionally resonant music. His hit “You Made A Rock” exemplifies this growth, with lyrics that reflect his journey and sound that nods to retro 1950s ballads.

Known for his captivating stage presence, Shayne has performed for crowds of 5,000+ and opened for major acts like The Eli Young Band and Brantley Gilbert. With over 160 shows in 2022 and even more planned for 2023, Shayne’s relentless pursuit of his musical calling continues to drive him forward. His goal is simple yet profound: to be remembered for creating real, heartfelt music and for giving everything he had to his art.
